Tamper proof nameplates for car trailers
The user
develops and produces functional transport solutions to suit individual needs. The range comprises car trailers, sales vans, boxes, box vans and sandwich panels.
Initial situation
A more cost-favourable, self-adhesive alternative was needed to replace riveted metal type plates, a product that should also stick on plastics, aluminium, metal and wood. As an additional advantage over the aluminium sign, the company logo along with the variable data were to be printed in the company’s house colour of blue and the surface was to be glossy.
Solution from ELTEX
Type plates for car trailers have to satisfy the requirements of the KBA (Federal German Motor Vehicle Office) bulletin regarding nameplates. ELTEX, as a leading manufacturer, already had a large number of TOP PROTECT 2 in 1 versions in its range with KBA approval.
The desired blue company imprint, however, made new tests necessary since coloured thermal transfer ribbons generally have a lower UV-resistance than black printed media.
