About the customer
It is one of the leader automotive manufacturers worldwide. The passenger car business of the group is divided into two brands. Each of these brands operates independently on the market. The portfolio of vehicles on offer ranges from consumption-optimised 3-litre cars to those in the luxury car segment.
Initial Situation
A barcode label was printed to enable QM documentation of the leakage testing of oil coolers, a label that had optimal resistance to the aggressive media prevailing in car engine compartments.
Solution from ELTEX
A self-adhesive, polyester foil of the ELTEX TOP SCRIPT range offers resistance to brake fluid, engine oil and water and is imprinted with a chemical-proof thermal transfer ribbon. The adhesive ensures firm bonding with the die-cast aluminium housing.
Test results concerning the bursting pressure and discharge values are documented as are the test date and time etc. by means of the barcode. Subsequently, the label is automatically applied to the corresponding cooler.
The main benefits:
- Perfect resistance to brake fluid
- Documentation of test results with the barcode
- Reliable automatic application of the label
