Application:
CE-marking for doors and canvasses as per current standards
The user
produces, among other things, doors as per DIN EN 13241-1 and canvasses as per EN 13561, products that are constantly subject to weathering.
Initial situation
In the course of harmonising European and national standards within the EU, doors and canvasses have recently had to be provided with a CE-marking.
In this respect the CE marking does not only comprise of the CE symbol itself. Instead, the products have to be equipped with a product type plate that, for example, has to provide information on the manufacturer, year of manufacture, model, and the standard applied.
The fundamental objective behind the standard is the protection of people. Therefore, the marking has to be quite legible throughout the entire service life of the product.
Solution from ELTEX
On account of the high quality and service life of the products, the user decided in favour of a self-adhesive label out of foil. The entire CE-label is implemented in a thermal transfer printing process.
Subsequently, the print image is laminated with a transparent protective foil in accordance with the TOP PROTECT 2 in 1 principle.
The type plate foil itself is tamper proof and after attachment can no longer be transferred to another product. When detaching the type label from the product, the word ‘VOID’ appears on the substrate thus making any attempt at manipulation quite obvious.
The main benefits:
- Standardised CE-marking with self-adhesive type labels out of foil
- Fraud-proof foil as a protection against manipulation
- Special adhesive ensures secure adhesion on various powder coatings
