High-performance type plates in ‘no-label-look’
The user
is one of the most innovative companies in Germany. The product range comprises frequency inverters, servo drives, geared motors, motors, clutches and brakes. Automated solutions, including software, visualisation and controls are likewise included in their offerings.
Initial situation
Transparent, self-adhesive type plates, imprinted with variable data in a thermal transfer printing process, had already been in use for many years for the marking of frequency inverters.
Besides the technical data and serial numbers, the type plates also include information and approval symbols. In the case of the compact components this means a lot of data on a small surface area.
For this reason the shape and dimensions of the type plates are harmonised to exactly match the housing. The labels are equipped with complex recesses and punching schemes that have to be absolutely identical to those of the housing.
Solution from ELTEX
ELTEX has its own engineering and tool-making areas. Here, high-precision tools with complex punch diagrams are manufactured using a process specially developed by ELTEX.
Consequently, labels and self-adhesive functional parts with complex punched sections and punch diagrams are precisely manufactured at low tooling cost.
A transparent foil is used as the label material, the surface structure and optical appearance of which is identical to that of the plastic housing. As soon as the printed label has been attached to the housing, the impression of a direct inscription is conveyed, something which is referred to as the ‘no-label look’.
The main benefits:
- Precise, perfectly-fitting marking
- UL-approval for labels in ‘no-label-look’
- High efficiency even with small batch sizes and great variety
