Application:
Probably the smallest numbered labels in the world
The user
is a German producer of model railways with a 140-year tradition and branches in more than 30 countries.
Initial situation
Traceability, product liability as well as the observance of national and international
standards play a significant role in toy manufacturing. They have to be marked with a CE sign and may not contain any harmful substances.
Model railways offer very little space for any marking. To enable unmistakeable traceability, every model should be labelled with a consecutive serial number, a marking that was intended to provide information on the date of manufacture and type of model. To ensure protection against manipulation, it should not be possible to detach the label after it had been applied. A tamper-proof labelling was therefore necessary.
Solution from ELTEX
ELTEX produces two-coloured, imprinted mini labels out of a white, destructible film. The foil breaks into pieces if any attempt is made to remove the label that has already been attached. Any transfer to another model is therefore rendered impossible (ELTEX TOP CODE, ELTEX TOP SAFE).
Besides a consecutive serial number, every label is equipped with the CE symbol as well as with a colour coding for the year of manufacture.
Hardly believable: the smallest label format is 8.5 x 1.5 mm!
Moreover, the material producer confirms: the label material conforms to all pertinent standards and guidelines.
The main benefits:
- Pollutant-free marking, standard-conform marking
- Distinct traceability of each model
- Secure protection against manipulation thanks to the destructible safety foil
- Label format from 8.5 x 1.5 mm
