Application:
Goods tags for commissioned steel tubes
The user
is a leading manufacturer of seamless, hot-rolled steel tubes. The range of products available covers almost all applications from simple constructional steel to special stainless steels.
Initial situation
The tubes ordered were equipped over many years with goods tags made out of a white, non-adhesive PVC foil. This PVC foil was then marked manually with a waterproof ink and the relevant piece of foil required cut from the roll. This marking method involved great efforts and it was not possible to use barcodes. Self-adhesive labels were not accepted from the customer’s side.
Solution from ELTEX
ELTEX TOP TAG labels are the ideal solution. Even today, tag labels out of a robust, white foil are used. Imprinting is effected in a thermal transfer printing process, including the barcode print.
The format of the goods tags was made uniform. The labels are equipped with punched holes in various dimensions and shapes to accommodate the different attachment possibilities required e.g. for clips, cable binders or binding wire. The thermal transfer ribbon matches to the foil: the imprint is resistant to weathering and abrasion.
The main benefits:
- Enormous time savings thanks to thermal transfer printing
- Uniform marking and clear tracking and tracing of batches
- Imprinting that is resistant to weathering and abrasion
