The scope of deliverables includes all components from test tubes through appliances for test-tube logistics, cleaning equipment and software.
Initial situation
A barcode label that sticks permanently to the glass is required for the automatic identification of test tubes. At the same time, the barcode itself still has to be readable after some 80 washing operations in industrial cleaning equipment.
Solution from ELETX
In cooperation with ELTEX, a label of the TOP-CODE serials was developed, a product that has satisfied the high demands placed on laboratory marking processes for many years.
The white, flexible polyester label sticks permanently on the circular, polypropylene tube which has a diameter of 38 mm. It is located in a recess, specially developed for this purpose, which protects it against mechanical strain.
At the same time, it is resistant to 80 washing cycles at 65 °C, including drying operations at 100° C. Alkaline liquid cleaning agents are used in this process.
A number range is reserved for each type of tube. An ingenious verification system ensures that double barcodes – i.e. with the same number – are impossible. Any mix-ups and the associated invalidity of the samples are thus reliably prevented.
