The user
iis a European manufacturer of canteen kitchen equipment with several manufacturing locations in various countries. The product range includes professional appliances e.g. hot-air steamers, grill and baking systems.
Initial situation
In the past, metal signs out of stainless steel sheet or self-adhesive type plates out of foil were used. However, the type plates out of foil and imprinted in a thermal transfer printing process were not resistant against all types of cleaning agents. Aggressive, chemical cleaners blurred the print image to such an extent that it became illegible.
Solution from ELTEX
An analysis at the customer’s provided Analyse beim Kunden brachte the following solution: the riveted as well as the type plates without surface protection were replaced by ELTEX TOP PROTECT 2 in 1 laminated labels. The existing thermal transfer printing system can continue to be used.
The main benefits:
- Cost reductions from self-adhesive type plates instead of riveted signs
- Strong adhesive for perfect adhesion
- Permanent legibility of the print image thanks to surface protection

Additional advantage
Against the background of corporate design, the type plate is now provided with a high-quality, multicoloured print of the company logo. Such a filigree layout cannot be adequately achieved with type plates out of metal.
