Guidelines and licensing

UL licensing

The Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is an independent, nonprofits-oriented organization for testing and licensing product safety. Here products are tested for safety in accordance with more than 800 norms of various industrial branches.

Labels, warning labels, caution labels, safety information, type plates, marking and identification are among the range of tested products. They are usually evaluated in accordance with the standard UL 969 “Standard for Marking and Labelling Systems”. After successfully passing their test, these labels become recognized components.

Application examples for the following industries:

ELTEX labels are UL-licensed components

Label materials for thermal-transfer printing and laser printing

are listed in accordance with the UL standard PGJI2. These UL labels are uv-resistant, scratch-proof, water-resistant, abrasive-proof and approved for use indoors and outdoors in situations with high humidity and occasional contact with lubrication oil and cleaning substances. ELTEX processes label materials of all leading manufacturers.

For almost all types of use, ELTEX possesses its own UL approvals for special UL labels.

You can look at ELTEX’s certificates in the UL online file. Simply go to the UL start page www.ul.com, click on “Certifications”, choose the “Company Name” search and enter “ELTEX”.

Authorized Label Suppliers Program

Printed, ready-made labels bearing the UL-mark may only be printed by a UL-authorized label manufacturer.

ELTEX is a UL-authorized label supplier (Section PGAA, File-No. LP2630) and permitted to print labels with all logos of UL (UL Marks).

ELTEX labels for Canada

Label materials for Canada
